Critically acclaimed dance company ZooNation is set to put on a show stopping performance on 24 and 25 September 2013 at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in Islington with their latest performance Zoonation: Unplugged.
The show will feature an evening of existing original music from DJ Walde, music writer for ‘Some Like It Hip Hop’ with seven exceptional dancers from the company providing an outstanding performance.
Founded in 2002 by director and choreographer Kate Prince in London, ZooNation’s very first production ‘BoxBeat’ proved to be a huge hit and the company has since enjoyed over a decade of success.
Hailed ‘One of the UK’s hottest dance companies’ by The Independent, the dance company boasts award-winning West End shows such as ‘Into the Hoods’ and ‘Some Like It Hip Hop’ as two of their most successful productions.
‘Into the Hoods’ became the first and longest running dance hip hop show in the history of the West End after the production ran for five months at the impressive Novello Theatre.
The cast of the production won a What’s On Stage Theatregoers’ Choice Award for Best Ensemble Performance with now associate artist, Kate Prince being nominated for the prestigious Laurence Olivier Award for Best Theatre Choreographer in 2009.
Among other incredible performances, the cast of ‘Into the Hoods’ was approached to create and specially perform at former South African president, Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday celebrations in Hyde Park in 2008.
The company also gave a breathtaking performance at the official 2008 Beijing Olympics closing ceremony which was one of the major sporting events in history.
Today ZooNation is now a resident company at Sadler’s Wells Theatre and successfully runs the fast growing ZooNation Academy of Dance, which currently trains over 150 students aged between 4 to 21 years.
Zoonation: Unplugged will kick off on Tuesday 24 September 2013 at 7pm with tickets costing between £12 – £28 and can be purchased at the ticket office on 0844 412 4000 or at www.sadlerswells.com
