U.S. rapper Young Future speaks exclusively to Flavourmag about his music and inspiring the world.
When and where did your love of music begin? When I was about 13 and heard 50 Cent.
Where did the name Young Future come from? I came up with it because I’m young and I’m unpredictable, just like the future.
What is Young Future about? Young Future is about inspiring the world eclectically through music.
Where do you want to go? (Professionally) I want to reap all the benefits of my success and help those who are unfortunate and lack inspiration.
What do you love most about what you do? I love the reaction and support from the fans. That’s what keeps me working hard and motivated to be creative.
What’s been the highlight of your career so far? Getting interviewed on MTV by Sway and Joe Budden, and a girl tattooing my group Futuristic Lingo’s logo on her hand.
What motivates you? People that tell me that I can’t do something.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far in your career? The business side of things, it’s very important to learn these things early on, but it’s difficult to operate at a high standard when doing so.
Who is your music inspiration? 50 cent, Jay-Z , Nas and Michael Jackson.
When can we expect an album or EP from you? In early 2013. ‘Circles Inspire Me’, look out for it.
If you were to create a super rap group of five members, who would be your first choices? Dead or alive. Tupac, Biggie, Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Nas.
What’s the plan for 2013? To take over the world with pinky and the brain.
If you could have any gift under your Christmas Tree what would it be? The winning lottery ticket.
