Arrested Development: The warriors of rhythm are back with a brand new show on Wednesday 13 October, 7.30pm at Barbican Hall, London.
The double Grammy-winning hip-hop group, who were the vanguards of the 90s hip hop/pop crossover with hits Mr. Wendal and People Everyday are back in the UK in support of their new album Strong.
With their special concoction of funk, soul, jazz, folk and of course hip hop going all the way back to Africa and reaching into the urban centres of America, Arrested Development is a band with a message. ‘We get on stage every night as warriors of rhythm and story tellers of dignity!’ says Eshe, the band’s vocalist.
‘[Strong] fill[s] a void in the industry right now. There aren’t many people really talking about the things that are happening… as far as worldly issues. We wanted to write about those issues.’
