Choice FM has gone into partnership with Barclaycard Unwind in order to undergo an all-day music seminar for you talented starlets. If you feel that you have the potential, musically, then I Have A Choice Music Potential is the route for you.
Music Potential was primarily set up by Choice FM’s youth project ‘I Have a Choice’ to help 16-25 year olds make a mark in the music or radio industry. The initiative sets out to provide youngsters with free workshops in music production, mixing, film making and vocal skills so that they are able to explore the talent they carry and become more knowledgeable in the area they wish to take. After the success of the last Music Potential seminar, it is back hosting with not one, but three events on the day which cannot be missed. And if you are chosen as one of the 45 most talented, you will receive an accredited qualification. If you are even luckier to be in as one of the six finalists then you will be awarded with a week’s work experience placement at Choice FM. You must be thinking that it can’t get any better than that, never underestimate Music Potential because it does!
Not only all that, but, the ambassador for Music Potential is none other than rising UK artist, Wretch 32. He may be the leader in everything unorthodox but when it comes to the seminar, he will be there and available to answer any questions you may have, adhering in an orthodox manner that is!
The first event will be an hour long seminar focussing on the money side of the music industry. If you have woes about stacking up them dollars, creating an identity and promotion then various media folks will be present to overcome your issues in the ‘Get Known Get Paid’ seminar. The founder of UK’s leading online youth broadcaster, SBTV, Jamal Edwards will be there along with Grime Daily’s Posty, Keith Harris (PPL), Jules Parker (PRS for Music) and Archna Sawjani (Punchbowl Blog).
The second event ‘Try it Session’ will consist of a number of different workshops in mixing, producing, singing, mcing and filmmaking, with a help in hand from experts Point Black.
The third event will allow you to get stuck in with a question round in the ‘Inside Scoop’ one hour seminar where you will have the chance to put your questions to the media professionals, your main guy being Wretch 32. So if you’ve always wondered why he chose to write a song about a “traktor” then this will be your time to grill the star. Other key industry figures you’ll be able to quiz will be Choice FM’s very own presenter and music journalist, Max, Dynamite trio N-Dubz manager Rich Castillo, Miller Williams (Publishing), and Parker & James (Production).
