A new inside depiction of the Saddam Hussein regime called ‘Devil’s double’ is due for release on August 10th and in celebration we are giving away five goodie bags to Flavour readers who can answer the question below.
Set in 1987 Bagdad, ‘Devil’s Double’ is a daring portrayal of life with in the Iraqi capital and show what it was like under the thumb of Saddam Hussein. Based on true events, the protagonist is played by Dominic Cooper (The History Boys) and sees him taken to meet an old school friend on a journey which is dark and full of fear. Latif arrives and is honoured as his school mate Uday’s (also played by Cooper) doppelganger or ‘fiday’, the only problem is that his old friend is the son notorious fallen leader Saddam Hussein. The plot unravels following Latif whilst he continually battles for survival in Uday’s world of debauchery and brutality. The Hollywood Reporter praises the lead Cooper: “[He is] In utter command of both roles, Cooper differentiates between the two beautifully”.
