We’re bombarded with so many fashion blogs nowadays it seems everyone thinks they’re the next ‘big’ thing. However, Only Boys and Tomboys is a refreshingly different lifestyle blog focusing primarily on fashion, food and interiors. Written by self-confessed ex-tomboy Anita Whittaker, her honest take on many a subject probably stems from living with six males (god help her) that include her four sons, husband and cat.
One of my favourite twists is that OB&T literally caters for everyone. She uses her sons, ranging from the ages of two to twenty, as models for her photo shoots so the blog appeals to children and teens while the lifestyle part shows adults how to live luxuriously without breaking the bank.
The blog may have only been launched in 2012 but has already attracted over 25,000 viewers and has planted her roots on Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. OB&T’s Youtube channel has also been a hit with her four-year old son starring in his own videos ‘Cooking with Alexander’ where he helps cook his favourite dishes.
Having worked with children’s designers Isossy Children, Maa Shoes and Indikidual she has also received praise from Children’s retailer Trotters and Dragons Den star Kelly Hoppen. The blog has gone from strength to strength over the last two years so watch this space…
