Weekend Round-Up: Rihanna dazzles at MTV VMAs 2012 and rivals Chris Brown and Drake win big

If you missed the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards yesterday, then don’t worry because we’ve got highlights from the night including a recap of the winners.

The night opened and closed with Rihanna, who kicked off the festivities with a fist thumping performance of ‘Cockiness’ featuring A$AP Rocky. She then ended up winning Video of the Year. One Direction should now be on their way home with three awards after performing what they regarded as “the best show of their life.” Rivals Chris Brown and Drake also won big, and to everyones relief not a single bottle was thrown.

Amber Rose couldn’t resist the temptation in following in Beyonce’s footsteps. The fair-haired bombshell finally confirmed her pregnancy by gracing the VMAs red carpet showcasing her little bundle of joy. Dressed in a floor-length lace frock, Rose was all smiles as she posed for photos with her fiancé Wiz Khalifa by her side. Last year, Beyonce also publicized her pregnancy by showing up on the red carpet with a rather weighty tummy.

Jam packed with stars, including Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Drake, Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys and others, host Kevin Hart can also expect a booking for next year after delivering some knee-cringing jokes.
