Women’s clothing brand Wallis has revealed the UK’s perfect party dress from recently conducted research to reveal what specifications women look for in their perfect Christmas Party dress with regards to style, fit, length, fabric and of course price.

With 86% of women now looking to wear their party frock to multiple occasions throughout the festive season, choosing the right style has never been more important.
In a bid to help women everywhere, Wallis has carried out a survey to uncover the nation’s perfect party dress in terms of style, specification and price, before taking the findings back to their design studios to turn into a reality.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, a classic black shade was chosen as the ultimate colour by over a third of women surveyed (35%) with nearly half of women (42%) opting for Lace as their go to fabric. When it came to fit, 41% of women prefer a fitted style to make them standout on the dancefloor this Christmas.
From maxis to minis and everything in between, the optimum dress length has always been a key question, and the debate continues with 30% of women surveyed opting for a style above the knee whilst 20% prefer a longer length. However knee length styles win out with 35% of women looking for something mid length to see them through the festive season.
When it comes to sleeves, strapless is most definitely out, with 77% of respondents preferring either a short (33%) or longer (44%) sleeve length.
The million dollar question when talking about party dresses is price and with the focus on investment pieces leading the way (86%), UK women are now looking to spend an average of £70on a hero dress to see them through the Christmas period.
