Following a two-month summer hiatus, the Young Guns Network (YGN) returns this November 21st with another highly anticipated free networking event to be held at the world’s largest record label, Universal Music. The past nine months in Young Guns’ history has seen it frequent some of the most prestigious music hubs in the UK; from Sony to Spotify and beyond. YGN has brought eager future stars into the epicentre of the industry to present behind-the-scenes access like never before.
With Fiction, Polydor, Island, Decca and now Roc Nation and Virgin EMI, plus a whole host of other labels under its wing, Universal is flying higher than ever. Artists on the label include Mumford & Sons, Florence + The Machine, Jessie J, Emeli Sandé, Jake Bugg, John Newman, Lorde, Eminem and countless others who all work to make it the global beacon of successful music that it is today. With this in mind there was nowhere more suited for YGN to host an artists and repertoire (A&R) focused night.
As is Young Guns tradition, the themed evening will see two highly coveted speakers; a senior industry executive and an aspirational young firebrand, who will both discuss the ins and outs of what means to talent scout, oversee artist development and liaise between label and artist in their day to day job. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter pages for further details and speaker announcements in the coming weeks.
The Young Guns Network
The Young Guns Network is a group created and run by people aged 18-25 who are working, interning or running their own business within the music industry. The YGN events are aimed at budding 18-25 year-old music enthusiasts and industry professionals and gives them an opportunity to see behind-the-scenes at leading companies, network with their peers from across the industry and step into the spotlight as event producers and guest speakers. YGNaims to be informative but also strives to make the dreaded art of ‘networking’ a relaxed and natural affair. The YGN team will use the event applications to curate a diverse but relevant audience to ensure the best networking experience. With each event and an ever increasing membership of industry professionals with a thirst for insider knowledge of the music industry, it has ensured that the events are continually packed out. For those who are not selected to attend an event, they can still view a short video posted on all our sites shortly after the event.
