Released on February 10, this romantic ‘chick-flick’ is hitting cinemas just in time for Valentine’s Day. Starring Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, The Vow tells the story of a newly-wed couple deeply in love… until one day they find themselves in a serious car crash, leaving Paige (McAdams) in a coma. A distraught Leo (Tatum) is relived when his wife wakes up; unfortunately, she doesn’t know who he is….
Well I won’t spoil it, but what I will say is yes, ladies and gentlemen, undying romance accompanied with a side of cheese is still very much on trend this year. With a headliner like ‘Can a once in a lifetime love find a second chance?’ you may worry that this movie will be full of clichés – and you would be partially right. However, the movie redeems itself with great acting from Tatum and McAdams, with their ‘will they – won’t they’ situation, causing enough tension to keep you going until the end.
The ladies will love it and the guys will appreciate the brief punch up between the two rivals fighting for Paige. Overall, this is probably the most ideal film to see for your Valentine’s date night.
