Bluebella’s #StrongIsBeautiful initiative unites Olympic athletes to inspire teenage girls to embrace their bodies and stay in sports.

Team GB’s women’s rugby players have partnered with leading lingerie brand Bluebella for the #StrongIsBeautiful campaign, aimed at encouraging teenage girls to stay in sports. This campaign addresses a critical issue: over half of secondary schoolgirls drop out of sports before the age of 16, often due to body insecurities during puberty.

Olympic rugby players Jasmine Joyce, Celia Quansah, and Ellie Boatman have joined this initiative to show girls that strength and femininity can coexist. They posed in Bluebella lingerie during an impromptu training session at Richmond Rugby Club, symbolizing body confidence and athletic prowess.

Ellie Boatman shared her experiences of being the only girl on her team and dealing with stereotypes. She emphasized the importance of training for health and enjoyment rather than appearance, sharing her own journey of overcoming an eating disorder.

Jasmine Joyce, recalling her challenges playing rugby as a girl, encouraged young girls to embrace their bodies. Celia Quansah, a former track athlete, highlighted the importance of breaking stereotypes about femininity in rugby.

Bluebella’s CEO, Emily Bendell, stressed the campaign’s goal to change perceptions of the strong female form. This ongoing campaign has previously collaborated with female athletes in the Rio 2016, Tokyo 2021 Olympics, and the 2023 Women’s FIFA World Cup, aiming to inspire girls to feel empowered through sport.
