Young Londoners are being offered the chance to spend two weeks away this summer, in return for helping out their community. The National Citizen Service programme (NCS) is looking for 16 year olds (Year 11) to take part in an exciting new initiative kicking off next month.
The summer adventure includes outdoor pursuits (such as camping, kayaking and climbing), as well as personal and team development sessions. Coordinator Leo Daniels of Leyton Orient Community Sports Programme says: ‘The NCS programme is a fun and exciting way to spend some of your summer holiday, and gives you the chance make new friends, develop yourself and give back to the community.’
While the standard price for the NCS experience is £100, participants are only required to pay only £50. Individual circumstances will also be taken into consideration, so students facing financial difficulties can discuss their specific situations.
