Sarah Riches Channels the Songwriting Greats with her Retro-feel Album ‘Come Around’

Hailing from Birmingham, England, singer-songwriter Sarah Riches releases her debut album on the 1st of November.

A retro-feel nod to the classic songwriters of the 60s and 70s, but with Sarah’s mellow and soothing voice providing a perfect accompaniment to the beautifully and distinctly ‘British’ sounds.

Two years in the making, Sarah’s debut album ‘Come Around’ is a nod to artists and songwriters such as Carole King, Dusty Springfield, The Carpenters, Fleetwood Mac, & Burt Bacharach, & later artists such as Norah Jones & Rumer and contains varied and multi-layered instruments, backing vocals and harmonies.

Sarah’s producer Adrian Kimberlin (Exit Recording) has taken great care with the arrangement and instrumentation to ensure that the retro feel has spanned across all of the tracks, and Sarah’s lyrics will pull at the heartstrings, as she creates poetry designed to move her listeners in some way. All tracks are original (except one beautiful cover of a track by “Whispering” Bob Harris’s favourite Robert Vincent) but they sound retrospective, as if from another era – an intentional homage to the songwriting greats of the past that Sarah identifies with.
