Rihanna is set to star in board game inspired movie Battleship
The 23-year-old recording artist with hits such as “Umbrella and Man Down” will be starring in her first big movie role. The film Battleship directed by Peter Berg is based on the board game Battleship about alien invasions at sea.
Rihanna will substitute her mic and raunchy fierce outfits, to play FBI espionage agent Raikes, in baggy camouflage with firearms. Rihanna’s character Raikes goes along with the navy to take on and defeat the aliens attacking the Earth.
The cast includes the likes of Taylor Kitsch (Xmen Orgins-Wolverine), Brooklyn Decker (Just Go With It), Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) and Liam Neeson (Taken). In preparation for the movie, Rihanna explains “We work with real military officers who were yelling at me, breaking me down, making me do push ups… They didn’t care about Rihanna…to them I was just a recruit.”
Battleship is set for release in the UK on May 18th 2012, make sure you don’t miss it.
