PLAN B’s new charity EOTO (Each One Teach One) has collaborated with emerging UK Streetwear brand ‘KNOWN’ to create an official limited edition t-shirt. Musician, Actor and Director; Ben Drew (Plan B), launched the charity to improve the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with the idea that; ‘it only takes one person to plant a positive seed in the head of another to change their life.’ Modelled by Ben himself and ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Ill Manors’ actor; Ed Skrein, the t-shirt will be sold online to raise awareness for the many inspiring projects that are opening doors and changing lives.
All profits raised by the t-shirt will go directly into funding the many projects set up to help young people develop their skill sets, through courses offered in FILMING, ACTING, MUSIC PRODUCTION, TRADES and Digital MEDIA, to name a few. EOTO’s aim is to link up emerging talent with professional organisations to strengthen the UK’s youth training sector, gaining the support of industry professionals and form record labels including Universal, Sony, XL, The Warner Music Group and E M I. In addition, The Warner Music Group have generously agreed to fund a state of the art music room at Plan B’s old PRU, as well as providing funds to pay an annual wage for a full time music teacher. Just one of the many ongoing projects the charity is activating.
The charity harnesses the passion and reputation of Ben Drew to help young people find the support they need to achieve great things. Ben says: “We are failing as a society to support the most disengaged on the journey from disenfranchised to empowerment. ‘Each One Teach One’ is building networks to take young people out of these negative environments and help them find places and activities where they can express themselves.” To build a solid foundation, the EOTO network will focus on the four East London Boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets & Waltham Forest with a view to extend the geographical reach across the UK.
