She is a mouthful of fresh air. Andy Allo’s conspicuous looks – curly-haired afro fixed with her killer vocals and jubilant smile makes her the perfect lady. The Cameroon-born native briefly made her debut in 2009, but recently re-emerged with her hugely anticipated sophomore album, ‘Superconductor.’
The in-demand singer and guitarist, is also a protege of music legend Prince. Yes, that’s right Prince, whom she has worked and toured tirelessly alongside over the last year. Not a bad start for a rising star.
But listening to her current single, ‘People Pleaser’ the inspiration is apparent. Delving deep into funk, RnB, blues, pop, soul, and rock, the influence from a man hailed as one of the “greatest artists of all time” is evident.
Interestingly enough, Prince also serves as the executive producer on Andy’s energy driven album. A mix of the two performers together is nothing but funkalicious.
