Flavour was the first publication to feature dirty pop group Fe-Nix when they first stepped onto the music scene just over a year ago. Since then they have been perfecting their look and sound and 2009 promises to be the year of the rise of the Fe-Nix. We linked back up with the four-piece band made up of Jade (21), Ayshan (25), Tanya (24) and Priceless (22) on the set of their music video for their debut single Lady Baby. If you remember Ghost Town DJ’s club classic cut My Boo then you’re bound to recognize it.
Directed by Ben Peters, the video is being shot on a private runway in Guilford. Fe-Nix arrives in a Kenworth Truck while the male dancers arrive via Lamborghini and Ferrari. The girls begin to dance sexily and confidently to camera while introducing themselves – each of them has a backdrop designed to reflect their personalities.
A real team effort
The video shoot took place outside at night and it was pretty cold. Despite this small inconvenience, there were a lot of people from the label and the production team on set and the atmosphere was vibrant with excitement as everyone was working as hard as they could to achieve a fantastic result. Not only will you soon be able to see the group’s new video but they have also been chosen to front the 2009 European campaign of hiphop superstar Nelly’s fashion brand Apple Bottoms. It’s just the beginning for these girls. Their motto should be – Fe-Nix will rise and take over. Remember where you heard it first!
The single Lady Baby is released May 4th.
