The world’s most dangerous times, created the world most dangerous group. Take a look at the NWA: Straight Outta Compton Red band trailer.
Featuring an opener with Dr Dre and Ice Cube. The trailer is crazy. Most of us haven’t almost forgotten what is was like for these guys in the early days. This movie reveals all. It could either be a huge flop or a breakthrough success. The question is which of the 2 will it be?
With hip-hop’s first billionaire Dr. Dre and old skool favourite Ice Cube rolling around Compton as they reminisce on their formative years there and the talent (like The Game and Kendrick Lamar) that has come up in the years since. From there, we’re thrown back into the gritty mid-80s, amidst the drugs and violence that helped bring Ice Cube, Dre, Eazy E, MC Ren, and DJ Yella together. As NWA, they pioneered gangsta rap, and remain one of the most important groups in rap history.
Starring O’Shea Jackson Jr., Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell as Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E, Straight Outta Compton is directed by F. Gary Gray (Friday, Set It Off, The Italian Job). The drama is produced by original N.W.A. members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, who are joined by fellow producers Matt Alvarez and Tomica Woods-Wright. Will Packer serves as executive producer of the film alongside Gray.
Straight Outta Compton started filming last summer after a long period in development hell. The film will hit theaters on August 14th.
