Young Nate was definately the shining star of the night, effortlessly flying the flag for the UK and making us all very proud. Gracious K also made an appearance and performed his underground smash, ‘Migraine skank,’ which got the crowd hyped up. Marques Houston performed an array of songs from his back catalogue, including ‘Pop that Booty’, ‘Circle’ and ‘Naked’. Vocally he was on point, but disappointingly there were no backing dancers or slickly choreographed routines to accompany his performance, as many had hoped. However, he did treat us to a trouser dropping moment, which resulted in a lot of excited screams that left many ladies gasping for air.
In between Marques’ and Lloyd’s performance, we were treated to a selection of the finest music and a bit of banter from the event’s host, Choice fm’s Mastersteps.
When Lloyd took to the stage, he immediately had the ladies like putty in his hands. Performing hit tracks like ‘You,’ ‘Get it Shawty’ and ‘Girls Around the World.’ He was every bit the true entertainer. He also treated us to a special rendition of Lil Wayne’s ‘Lollipop,’ which was arguably his strongest vocal of the night. Another highlight from the night was the Flavour Magazine’s fashion/dance show. Styled and choreographed by The Collective the show featured pop/ R&B group, Fe-Nix, hot street dance crew, The Manic Boiz and some of the hottest model’s in the UK who were all wearing Apple Bottoms clothing.
This was definately a night not to be missed by all true R&B music lovers.
