For Pop’s newest boyband, 2014 has gone off to a quite start. A sold out UK tour that saw venues around many blocks, another Top 40 UK single with Fame & TV showed yet again those M.A.D boys are spreading like a infectious likability.
Now that Spring is here, the boys announced their new single, Shotgun, another charged up pop guitar anthem you can’t help put your hands up in the air.
Released on May 24th, the single coincides with their 18-city UK tour that starts on the 4th May in Portsmouth. With lyrics like “Raybans on, Beach Boys on the stereo”, this is a feel good Summer anthem. Wind down the windows and crank it up!!

Here I have an exclusive interview with Dan Lewis from M.A.D:
Hi Dan, you toured in February, how did it feel performing?
It was insane as we didn’t expect to see so many people show up to see us perform live.
What artists do you inspire to be like?
As a band we like musicians from Busted and One Direction, we also put in control into what we do and when we first started we had to be squeaky clean toy boys.
How would you describe your sound as its very different from One Direction and the likes of Union J?
Busted meets One Direction, especially with our new single ‘Shotgun’ as it has a rocky feel to it.
How do you prepare before you go on stage?
We do a funny hand shake and who ever supports us, we all do a big one.
How did you first meet as a band?
Through auditions as I was doing videos on Facebook and our manager at the time messaged me to come down from my home town in Wales to audition in London, which was very weird.
When you are not performing or promoting, what do you enjoy doing on your day off?
I enjoy watching cooking shows like Master Chef and come dine with me.
Where did the name M.A.D come from?
From our initials in our names Michael, Abs and Dan, and describes and makes us who we are.
How would you describe M.A.D fans in a few words?
Absolutely mad, crazy and dedicated. I even had some fans recognize me when I was at home in Cardiff.
Anything you would like to share about your upcoming shows?
We have an Up and Close personal tour which is in may, so that it makes it more intimate with the fans. We can’t wait to tour up and down the country.
