The London Cabaret Club makes its grand return with The Best of British Pop, a culinary, musical and dance odyssey through the Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, Nighties and Noughties at The Bloomsbury Ballroom, its iconic new, permanent residence.
The London Cabaret Club ‘The Best of British Pop’ had been on our hit list of places to visit for sometime now, so we where uber excited when we attended the show.
Held of the plush Bloomsbury Ballroom (only a 2 mins walk from Holborn station) I attended The Best of British Pop with 2 lady friends of mine, both wearing little black dresses and high heels, we entered the venue and was pleasantly surprised at the style and layout of the show.
Picture this: A large ballroom with a wine bar at one end and a stage filled with music band members for live music at the other. In the centre of the room was a large black stage, giving attendees a full 360 degree view of the show. Booth style seating then placed all around the stage, giving us an almost on-stage dinning and show experience.
Watch the trailer above. The show is actually far better than the trailer.
The Dinning Experience
We wined and dined to the VIP 3 course menu which consisted of dexter beef tartare, gin cured devon scallops and goats cheese truffles to start.
Next on the menu came 28 day dry aged Sirloin, battered Devon cod and garden pea and mint arancini.
For deserts we enjoyed warm dark chocolate fondant, vanilla ice cream, strawberry and coconut eton mess and apple with thyme custard.
All while enjoying cocktails from their signature cocktail list.
The Show
The show was a captivating mix of song, dance and performances, going through the best of British music from the 60’s to the noughties.
The Beatles, Queen, Bee Gees, Sinitta, Elton, Eurythmics, Soul II Soul, Spice Girls, Ed Sheeran, Adele, the list goes on. Each song is performed with great clarity and has a fabulous performance to match.
Sitting on the outside of the stage gives you that awe inspiring feeling of being part of the show and you will find yourself singing and dancing in your seats as you get fully engulfed in the show.
Every song will give you that warm nostalgic feeling as you listen and take in the vibes of the show. The dancers are sexy, the songs are warm and fuzzy (not cheesy) and the performers are really quite great. Look out for the very cute Maysie.
However the person that impressed me the most was the stunning Whitney Martins the current Miss London and badass performer and singer. She is one to watch.
The London Cabaret Club is perfect for date night, girls night out, even lads night out. I truly enjoyed the whole experience and I believe you will too.
Oh and I nearly forgot to mention, that after the show there’s a small club floor where you can dance and drink the night away. Some of the dancers come out and party too, which is great as it meant I got to salsa (taught how to salsa) with one of the stunning performers on the night, whoop whoop!
