Don’t let your subconscious get the better of you; the human polygraph is back with a second season of Lie To Me, as Dr Cal Lightman played by Academy Award© nominee Tim Roth (The Incredible Hulk, Reservoir Dogs) and his team of deception experts team up with governmental agencies to reveal the truth behind the lies . Lie To Me: Season 2 is released as a 6-disc DVD box set on 3 January from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
From the producers of 24 and writer Samuel Baum (The Evidence), Lie to Me is inspired by real-life behavioral specialist Dr. Paul Ekman who can read clues in the human face, body and voice to expose lies in criminal investigations.
One shrug of a shoulder, rotation of the hand or curl of the lip, The Lightman Group know who’s lying. Making up the team with Roth are last season’s favourite cast members including; Kelli Williams (Law and Order, Quantum Leap), Brendan Hines (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Without a Trace) and Monica Raymond (Law and Order, Fighter), along with the introduction of two new cast members; Hayley McFarland (24, Without a Trace) and Mekhi Phifer (ER, Dawn of the Dead), who are thrown into the mind-blowing maze of detection and analysis.
In Lie to Me: Season 2, corrupt politicians, religious cult groups, UFO sightings and a missing world poker finalist are all part of a day’s work for Dr Cal Lightman and his team. Opening with one of Cal’s toughest cases to date, The Lightman Group has to figure out whether a woman with a multiple personality disorder is either the killer or the witness to a murder when she comes to them for help.
As the series unfolds, a blast from the past pulls Lightman into a dangerous game of cat and mouse testing his own loyalty, and the team forced to revisit old wounds when they are asked to witness the execution of Jason Wilkie, who they helped convict of the murder of an 8 year old boy 17 years ago.
This highly anticipated second season of Lie To Me is spread across a 6-disc DVD boxset, packed with extras including gag real, a lie detection tutorial and extended scenes.
