The movie is from acclaimed filmmaker Zack Snyder who makes his animation debut with the family fantasy Guardians of Ga’Hoole, adaptation of author Kathryn Lasky’s popular children’s books about a group of kidnapped owlets who take flight to save their kingdom from an ancient evil by locating the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole.
The film follows Soren, a young barn owl fascinated by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owl kind from the evil Pure Ones. As us human’s all have aspirations, so do owls, and Soren, dreams of joining his heroes and it’s that super-competitiveness that causes Soren to end up tumbling out of their tree to the ground, which is a dangerous place to be for a young owl. This is where the fast pasted action kicks in with Soren, left with the decision of trying to escape the Pure Ones with the help of other brave owls while at the same time trying to save the owl kingdom.
Whooo hooo whoo… I never thought that I would actually enjoy watching a movie based on owls but ‘Legend of the Guardians’ is one of its own kind.
