JLS are about to shift gear into a fresh era with the release of their fourth studio album, Evolution on November 5. Documenting an evident growth for the boys, Evolution see’s them mature both personally and sonically. The album’s lead single has been confirmed as Hottest Girl In The World, which will be released on October 21. Listen out though, the single will premiere on UK radio on September 6.
Hottest Girl In The World is a sleek, modern club song which shows maturity and progression, taking the boy band out of pop territory. A seamless transition into grown-up rnb; JB, Marvin, Oritsé and Aston go in on the high notes, showcasing their audacious vocals alongside the tight production, courtesy of Bangladesh.
Evolution sees JLS move in a more urban direction and the Brit boys work with a stellar list of American urban producers, including hip hop producers The Runners, who have previously worked with Rihanna, Chris Brown and Rick Ross. Producer duo Midi Mafia is also enlisted for JLS’ Evolution, they have previously worked with Brandy and Frank Ocean. Perhaps the hottest producer they worked with for the new album is the legendary rnb hit-maker Rodney Jerkins, who has worked with the likes of TLC, Kanye West and Beyoncé.
JLS have been one of the most successful acts in X Factor history and are the only act from the show to have had five number one singles. Over the last four years they have sold over six million records.
The JLS live experience has been one of the hottest tickets over the last few years. The boys are currently finishing up their run of summer dates around the UK. They are one of three British bands ever to sell out more than ten dates at the O2 arena, along with the Spice Girls and Take That.
