To coincide with the release of his debut album, Jahméne Douglas has announced a one-off show at St James’s Piccadilly in London on Thursday July 18. His album ‘Love Never Fails’ will be released on July 22, alongside his debut single ‘Titanium’. With a little help from the London Community Gospel Choir, Jahméne will also be supported by a five piece band, and will be performing brand new material from his hotly anticipated album.
When he first appeared on The X Factor last year there was a quietness about him, he seemed shy. But it wasn’t long before we realised that the former Asda shelf stacker was not so much shy as quietly strong. ‘I know I seem shy, but singing was my therapy, my outlet, my release. It was how I could be just me. It’s a way of zoning out and making you strong. The singing became my sanctuary when I was growing up,’ he explains.
The official video for ‘Titanium’ was released last week, check it out below. His forthcoming album is said to be a collection of songs that he has “flavoured with his own soul”.
Jahméne’s jahmazing St James’s Church Piccadilly show goes on general this Friday (21 June) at 9am here. Ticketmaster will have a limited number of signed album CDs available to pre-order from their site alongside the live tickets.
