Emerging Sydney Indie/Folk duo Darling return with a sweet melodic single ‘Anywhere,’ which premiered on FBi radio’s The Pines show last night.
‘Anywhere’ is about stepping out, taking chances and chasing dreams with reckless passion and excitement.
The single is the first song Seryna and Rudy have written together, before this they had written singles separately.
On the single, Seryna said, “We feel really strongly about this song, it’s something I feel like we can all relate to, chasing our dreams and doing whatever it takes to achieve them,”
“It was an interesting and wonderful experience bringing together two different writing techniques. The end result is something neither of us could have created on our own,”
‘Anywhere’ is the second release for Darling, with their debut release ‘Until It Hurts’ garnering attention from tastemakers across the globe. Both singles will be featured on their upcoming EP due to drop 13th November. With an EP launch to be held on Saturday 24th November, 6pm at Gasoline Pony 115 Marrickville Rd, Marrickville, Sydney.
Darling is the result of the pair’s shared vision of songwriting as a disciplined craft and a vehicle for honest storytelling that allows the listener to connect both to the artist’s experience and their own. The two draw from influences as diverse as Corinne Bailey Rae, Passenger, John Mayer, Angus and Julia Stone and Sarah Bareilles to create music that’s undisguised and heartfelt. They blend beautiful harmonies and a raw acoustic sound sprinkled with subtle jazz and indie folk tones with emotive lyrics that connect to their listeners on a deep, visceral level.
