On Thursday evening the streets of Shoreditch became the play ground for some lucky competition winners at the Desperados Verde Launch Party. Prior to an incredible set from UK DJ Sub Focus the
party goers were set a ‘twisted’ mission which would see them explore the Shoreditch streets to win prizes. Different locations set out on a map each played host to a different weird and wonderful activity such as a Desperados tequila ice cream laboratory, a mint installation where the whole room was full of mint plants as well a 3D crowd surfing experience which allowed the revellers to become the rock-stars!
Once inside the famous XOYO nightclub in Shoreditch bottles of Desperados newest offering ‘Verde’ were flowing. The mint infusion to the original tequila and lager combination adds a refreshing element to the already popular drink and for someone who does not like Tequila – I found this drink incredibly easy to drink! First to take to the stage was a rather wacky group of musicians called The Bottle Boys who blasted out a repertoire of pop classics using only, you guessed it – bottles! It was a fun way to start the night and had the audience dancing, cheering and joining in!
It was then time for the main event – a 60 minute set from superb Electro DJ/Prodcuer Sub Focus. The mastermind behind the Summer smash ‘Tidal Wave’ took no time in whipping the crowd into a frenzy as he delivered an exhilarating set jumping in between a selection of Electro, Dub and Trap beats.
All those in attendance would agree it was a great night, in a great venue with a great beer!
