Mercury Prize 2020 for the first time ever features more women than men with women taking 7 out of the 12 shortlist spots… Herstory in the making.
This year features the like of Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, Anna Meredith plus more along with heavyweights Stormzy, Kano and Michael Kiwanuka.
The full Mercury Prize 2020 shortlist is as follows

Last year Dave won the Mercury Prize for his LP Psychodrama and we are excited to see who will win this year. The event London’s Hammersmith Apollo on September 10, depending on guidelines surrounding COVID-19.
If Charli XCX, Dua Lipa or Georgia win, it would be the first time a pop record has earned the £25,000 prize since M People’s Elegant Slumming in 1994.
Previous female winners and female-fronted winners include Wolf Alice, Ms Dynamite, PJ Harvey (2 x winner), Speech Debelle, M People and Portishead.
