It’s official: Sharon Osbourne will be, joining Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger and Louis Walsh on ITV’s X Factor this year. News that Simon Cowell tapped the former judge doesn’t come as a surprise. Along with dozens of others, her name has floated around for some time as a potential replacement for Tulisa.
It’s a reunion for Sharon and Louis, although many might have not known that she was one of the original judges from 2004-2007. Gary and Nicole also reprise their judging duties on the singing contest. Speaking of the new series, Simon Cowell said: “Three words I never thought I’d say…. Welcome back Sharon!”
Host Dermot O’Leary will continue presenting once more offering support, and a shoulder to cry on to aspiring stars. But what will Sharon bring to The X Factor? Well, we all know the show needs a diva, and Sharon will fill the role pleasantly. She spent half her life in the music industry, managing some of the biggest bands in rock.
“I couldn’t be happier about coming back for the 10th anniversary. I can’t wait to give Gary Barlow a big hug, sit next to the gorgeous Nicole, and of course throw water on dear Louis,” says Sharon.
And in the first of an exciting range of new changes for the tenth series of The X Factor, for the first time ever – hopefuls will have to tackle two sets of auditions. First, they will face the judges eyeball to eyeball in an intimate audition room. If they receive three they will then have to perform for the judges once more, in an arena, to prove they can also impress an audience before securing a coveted place at the next stage in the competition.
What do you think of Sharon’s return?
