We are pleased to share with you the Girlhood trailer. Girlhood is a story about a group of young girls of African descent living in Paris.
Synopsis
Oppressed by her family setting, dead-end school prospects and the boys law in the neighbourhood, Marieme starts a new life after meeting a group of 3 free-spirited girls. She changes her name, her dress code and quits school to be accepted in the gang, hoping that this will be a way to freedom.
We’ve also been given access to an exclusive clip of the film too which features Rihanna’s hit track ‘Diamonds’ in an uplifting moment from the film. The girls rent a hotel room for the night, get dressed up, dance and lip-sync along to the song. After viewing the scene, Rihanna and her management waived their usual licensing fees so that it could be used in the film.
