Running out of new songs to rinse? Check out my top 5 tunes of the week.
Drake ft Nicki Minaj – ‘Make Me Proud’
Drake’s second album ‘Take Care’ is out later this month and the second single from the album features label mate and top female in the game, Nicki Minaj. With hot bars and a catchy hook, this one’s a winner.
Example – ‘Midnight Run’
The signature voice of Example is back. He released his third album ‘Playing In The Shadows’ in September and the third single from the album is classic Elliot. A combination of bass, singing and rapping over an electric beat is enough for me.
Emeli Sande – ‘Daddy’
Emeli’s single from her debut album ‘Our Version Of Events’ (due out early 2012) is haunting, beautifully sang and ridiculously catchy. Whether the song is about drugs, men or quite literally her dad, I don’t know. I still love it though.
Drake ft. Lil Wayne – ‘The Motto’
Another release from ‘Take Care’, Drake and Weezy go hard with their lyrics and flow. The song is essentially about how many women they have and how much money they have, blah blah blah. Regardless of the less than original lyrical content, this track has a serious swag factor.
Tyga – ‘Rack City’
A different sound from Young Money’s Tyga, ‘Rack City’ is another swagged out track that I can just rock to. From the ‘Well Done 2’ Mixtape, make sure you check that out as well as his album ‘Careless World’ due out on November 19.
