Apple is rumored to be purchasing Beats Electronics in a landmark deal worth $3.2 billion. This deal is yet to be confirmed formally by either company, a Facebook video uploaded by actor Tyrese Gibson suggests an announcement is imminent.
In a 83 second clip the Hollywood actor – Tyrese known for his roles in The Fast and the Furious and Transformers, congratulates hip-hop icon Dr. Dre on the acquisition.
“The first billionaire in hip-hop, right here from the motherf**king West Coast.”
It might have been some time since we’ve heard new music from Dre but that hasn’t slowed his ability to make money, In 2014, Dr. Dre was ranked as the second richest figure in the American hip hop scene by Forbes with a net worth of $550 million.
As Tyrese says, looks like that needs updating.
