Festive Tea Punch & Cocktails
Especially for the festive season, The East India Company tea master has collaborated with mixologists to create a range of seasonal tea infused punch and cocktail recipes.
Inspired by The East India Company’s exquisite collection of rare tea and fine foods, and its rich history of exploration, each recipe evokes all of one’s senses – from the sound of adding prosecco to Bombay Dreams, the vibrant passionfruit puree in Tea Party Punch to the smell of the delicate notes of bergamot, neroli and mint in The Staunton Twist. Each of The East India Company’s tea cocktails are unique and perfectly suited to a variety of festive occasions. Romance of The East is an elegant aperitif cocktail, while The Staunton Twist is a vibrant and refreshing cocktail perfect for festive soirees.
Historically, The East India Company was responsible for introducing ‘punch’ to England from India in the early seventeenth century. Punch, originally derived from the hindi word ‘Paanch’, translates as the number ‘five’. The word referred to a drink made of five ingredients: water, fruit, tea, sugar and alcohol; a summer elixir used to escape the searing Indian heat, or a winter warmer to keep the cold at bay. Paying homage to this heritage, is the Tea Party Punch using The East India Company Boston Tea Party Tea, The East India Company Vanilla Sugar, fresh thyme, passion fruit puree, lime juice, orange juice and dark rum.
