The DJ Awards make a spectacular comeback at Chinois, Ibiza, marking a new era in dance music recognition.
The DJ Awards, heralded as the ‘Oscars of dance music,’ celebrated a momentous return at Chinois, Ibiza, on Wednesday 2nd October, following a four-year hiatus. The evening was hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Jaguar and Katie Knight, and numerous industry legends received honours in various categories.
This year’s ceremony was a vibrant celebration, with the club scene’s elite, music lovers, and industry professionals and the awards were distributed amidst heartfelt acceptance speeches.
Winners of the genre awards included Black Coffee for Afro, Sam Divine for House, and Vintage Culture for Tech House, with the latter presented by The Hub Ibiza Studios. Other notable recipients were Armin Van Buuren for Trance, Sven Vath for Techno, and Chase and Status for Drum and Bass. The International DJ Of The Year Award went to Fisher, with Miss Monique receiving the Breakthrough Award presented by Riot Noise.
Special Industry Awards were also handed out, including the Ibiza Icon Award to Luciano and the Lifetime Achievement Award to Javier Anadon. The Best Ibiza Party Award recognized David Guetta’s ‘F*** Me I’m Famous’ at Ushuaia and ‘Future Rave’ at Hi Ibiza.
The evening concluded with an electrifying afterparty featuring performances by Luciano, Cristoph, Mathew Jonson, Ben Sterling, and Manu Gonzalez.
