After rising to fame in 2012 since appearing on the X Factor, District 3 are now embarking on their first 3eek Out Tour. The tremendous trio, consisting of Greg West, Micky Parsons and Dan Ferrari-Lane, blew the audience away with their new material at the O2 Academy in London.
The night began with the presenter, Luke Franks, preparing the crowd for the incredible show ahead, through a rather revealing game of ‘Never Have I Ever’ along with several Mexican waves and singing some popular songs led by members of the audience.
The supporting acts of the boys, Room 94 and Tara Berwin, were warmly welcomed by the London audience. Both acts performed a selection of their own songs as well as covers, raising the energy levels in the venue. With a combination of music genres, from rock to pop, there was definitely something for everyone.
3eeks were now ready and waiting for the three boys they longed to see. Anticipation and excitement grew, and the crowd went wild as three familiar figures appeared on stage. Starting with a bang, the adored boy band performed an original song, ‘What You Know About Me’, with hundreds of fans singing every word, much to the boys’ delight.
A variety of performances were enjoyed, including covers of some of District 3’s favourite songs, ‘Give Me Love’ by Ed Sheeran and Ne-Yo’s ‘Let Me Love You’, in addition to plenty of new songs such as ‘Hello’ and the popular and heartfelt ‘Dead To Me’ which the boys informed fans was written about “feeling see-through in a relationship”.
Audience participation was one of the key aspects of the night. Three 3eeks were called up on stage to take part in a game show, ‘3eek Me Out’. The blindfolded boys chose one of the three lucky girls, having answered some questions about themselves, to win a backstage pass to meet them in their dressing room after the show. A question and answer session was led by Luke Franks whereby the audience was in for a treat as one particular fan, asked to see Dan’s abs. The crowd roared as the highly defined six pack was revealed. Following this jaw-dropping event, the boys came out with three water pistols, cheekily aiming at the audience who shared District 3’s energy as they got wet.
