The BBC Design Trainee Scheme supports the development of new entrant design skills in set, costume, make-up and interactive design.
Contract: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
Start date: 1st October 2009
The scheme provides the opportunity for future designers to gain practical experience by working with experienced design teams and programme-makers.
BBC Design Trainees are recognised as representing some of the best new design talent and past trainees have successfully furthered their careers with the BBC and wider industry after their traineeship. BBC design trainees will be expected to work across the country and business expenses will be paid under the BBC expenses policy.
In order to be considered for the Design Trainee Scheme – Interactive, applicants must submit a portfolio of work appropriate to interactive design.
The following characteristics have been identified as key to success in the job and successful candidates are expected to demonstrate these through the work in their portfolios:
* originality of ideas
* understanding of design concept and processes
* breadth of creative responses
* high level of craft skills
