From Naomi Campbell to Gary Barlow, Chloe Jasmine Whichello first caught our attention on the hit British modelling show The Face with Naomi Campbell, Erin O’Connor and Caroline Winberg.
Her stunning looks and posh manner made us like Chloe Jasmine Whichello from the moment we set eyes on her. After her exit from the show, we decided to stop watching. Fast Forward to 2014 and she was back on our screens again and this time it was the X Factor. Say what..? Yep not only is Chloe beautiful but she can sing too. Not just a pretty face eh?
I followed her on twitter, sent her a wonderful direct message about featuring her on Flavourmag and to my surprise Chloe responded with a big fat YES. Not only did I get a YES, we also got a shoot via Keith Murphy photography to go with the interview. Say What…?
Bursting with anticipation I spoke to Chloe about The Face, The X Factor, fashion and dating…
Would you ever date a fan? Fans are incredibly useful, especially in hot weather lol.
Chloe if you’re reading this and as you’ve stated above, yes I can be very useful, especially in hot weather, I’m tall (6ft 2) I’m dark (very dark) I can be your shade on a beautiful summers day. I have a question for you. Would you like to go on a date with me?
I hope she answers my question lol. But I digress. So back to the reason we are here reading this article. Here are my questions below and this is what Chloe replied…
We wrote a feature on you back in Sept 2014 just before you entered the X Factor, and we loved you on The Face, what was it like being on Set with Naomi Campbell?
She is a creature like no other, a perfectionist, stunningly beautiful , strong and driven.
What do you prefer most, modeling or singing?
With modeling, you are striving to create the image the client desires, to demonstrate the product or the vision effectively. Singing live is a true challenge. You are there to be a story teller, to entertain, to perform.
Whatever I’m doing, I attempt to put my heart into it.. although I do struggle terribly with nerves. I’m very blessed to be able to do both.
You released a photo shoot, Marilyn Monroe style just before you the entered X Factor and we loved it, did you plan this as a tactical move of promotion? (See the full gallery here)
The Kitten Kouture campaign was a job for a client, and the styling, hair make up and location was the theme for the brand that season, which I fully embraced. Thank you kindly for the comparison. There was only one Norma Jeane Mortenson and her legacy still continues to set the world ablaze however. I hate to disappoint but it was not a calculated manoeuvre whatsoever 🙂
We heard rumors that you landed a Primark gig, what was that like?
Someone has performed their research rather effectively! It was for ABF which is the parent company of Primark. It was so fun to prance around in Primark in North London with a lovely team.
What has been your favourite modeling job to date and why?
I don’t have favourites. I love the surprises and challenges each job presents. You meet such inspiring people, travel far and wide and enjoy a cacophony of magical experiences. 🙂
Which models do you adore the most?
My role model is my mother for thousands of reasons. Linda Evangelista who is one of the most accomplished models of all time is a true inspiration to us all (Evangelista is an activist for HIV/AIDS research as well as for breast cancer awareness) It’s not exactly easy being a model. On the exterior it looks incredibly glamorous but it’s hours of travelling, castings, rejections, temperamental weather.. feel free to walk a mile in their stilettos. I adore any model who has the patience and drive to do what they do.
Would you say your a feminist? and if so why??
Naturally I believe in rights for women. The most important thing I stand by is that everyone should be kind irregardless of their gender.
ON FASHION
Your are very beautiful and have a unique sense of fashion, how would you describe your style?
Everyone is beautiful! Truthfully? I’m renowned for dashing out of the door in a hurry and sporting the latest “whatever I find on the floor” fashion..! I believe you really should dress to express not dress to impress. There’s no shame in keeping items of clothes with hold wonderful memories. You can really brighten your mood with the garments you wear. I never take more than five minutes dressing (any longer causes unnecessary stress) and my favourite item of clothing is my dressing gown.
Whats your favourite place to shop?
The world. I was once told that “No one owns anything”, a phrase which I hold close. You are only one person and cannot possibly make 100% use of all the things you own.
Whats your favourite make up brand?
Anything which isn’t tested on animals. Beauty stems from within 🙂
What does the term “Sex Sells” mean to you?
Sex has been utilized in advertising since the earliest forms of wood carvings and illustrations of attractive women (often unclothed from the waist up) adorned posters, signs, and advertisements for saloons, tonics, and tobacco. Consumers believe that by purchasing certain items they will feel desirable. Seeing an attractive man or woman in an advert excites the areas of the brain that make us buy on impulse, bypassing the sections which control rational thought. (Yes, it is a little oxymoronic that the fashion industry attempts to sell clothes by having models wear as little as possible).
Agent Provocateur or Victoria Secrets?
I strongly admire what Joseph Corré (the son of Vivienne Westwood) and Serena Rees formulated with Agent Provocateur , their films, photographic campaigns and fragrances are unrivalled. It makes me smile to stroll past their original store in Soho where it all began and I applaud what Victoria’s Secret stands for. The founder felt like an intruder whilst purchasing lingerie for his wife, studied the market for 8 years and created an environment where men could feel comfortable shopping. The brand grossed $500,000 in its first year of business. I can’t possibly have a favourite as both are excellent.
Which other celebs style do you adore?
I admire anyone who is in the public eye. I wouldn’t wish “fame” on my worst enemy. You are more likely to see a Unicorn purchasing a Venti Latté than Angelina Jolie.
Lingerie or clothing photo shoots?
The latter 🙂
Give us one beauty tip.
SMILE. Create wonderful thoughts and carry them with you all day.
ON DATING
Whats your biggest misconception about men when you were growing up?
I grew up in a household with a mother and father who were (and still are, after 25 years of marriage) very much in love and who worked as a team. My grandparents have been married since they were 17 (my grandfather threw a bunch of flowers over my grandmothers wall). I’ve always believed that love, true love is forever… It’s unconditional and you make it work. It takes two. Maybe it won’t present itself as a knight in shining armour who has valiantly slayed dragons and witches but it’s very much there. I’ve learnt that you have to be incredibly careful about who you devote yourself to and your affections should always be reciprocated. If you find yourself in the wrong story, leave.
Is it OK for women to ask men on a first date?
Of course! It just means they want to spend some time getting to know them. There’s no scandal in the notion.
For the boys. Do chat up lines really work on women?
Try saying something that is genuine. Begin as you mean to go on.
Name 3 things people should never do on a first date.
I don’t believe you should set limitations. If you really feel you’ve found the one, propose to them! It’s not unheard of and the worst they can say is “no”. Don’t mask your true-self, what’s real is ultimately revealed. 🙂
Would you ever date a fan?
Fans are incredibly useful, especially in hot weather lol.
ON HEALTH
How do you manage to maintain that stunning figure of yours?
I’ve been vegetarian all my life due to my parents influences, but I don’t feel compelled to diet or exercise. Our body is our home that we carry around with us for the entirety of our lives. I’ve faced criticism for my figure but I won’t sacrifice my desire to consume what I want to please anyone.
Give us one tip to get a figure like yours?
Eat Chocolate.
Do you get more attention from girls or guys with your beautiful face and wonderful figure?
The thing is, no amount of attention can ever dictate how you feel internally. You should never allow the opinions of others to govern your happiness.
And finally tell us something you have never said in any other interview.
I love Flavourmag
