The UK television premiere of the fifth annual BET Hip Hop Awards 2010 takes place on Saturday 16th October at 8pm only on BET (Sky 191 and Freesat 140).
Presented by Actor and comedian Mike Epps, Hip Hop’s leading performers Nicky Minaj, Rick Ross, Wacka Flocka Flame, Gucci Mane and Dip Set, take the stage during this year’s event with special appearance by rapper and actor, Common.
The night brought together A-List celebrities including Mo’Nique, Keri Hilson, Common, Martin Lawrence, Taraji P. Henson and Missy Elliot for an explosive night of tributes and performances.
New York rappers Jay-Z and Nicki Minaj were the hip hop king and queen this year taking home three awards each.
Other winners included Diddy, Swizz Beatz, DJ Khaled and legendary female rap trio, Salt-n-Pepa who were honoured as this year’s I AM HIP HOP AWARDS ICONS. Salt (Cheryl James), Pepa (Sandra Denton) and Spinderella (Deidra “Dee Dee” Roper) make up Salt-N-Pepa; one of the best selling female acts to date.
