Ever dreamt of getting into the creative industries but unsure how to get a foot in the door? Well Aspire4U, a Birmingham community organisation, has launched the Inspire Project. The initiative will provide 20 unemployed young people with training sessions in fashion, photography or graphic design. Those who partake in the training will produce culturally inspired photographs, booklets and garments as the project focuses on social groups often misunderstood in Birmingham: Nigerian, Chinese, Jamaican and Pakistani.
And to celebrate your achievements there will be a community event which will feature a fashion show and photography exhibition.
Interested? Then call Daniella Genas on 07745540519 or email [email protected] You’ve got until the 4th December to get in touch. The project starts in December, lasts five months and takes place in the Birmingham area. It’ll be once a week, non Brummies are definitely welcome! Aspire4U will cover the cost of your days travel within the city.
Come along, get involved, be inspired- you could unlock a hidden talent that could turn into a lucrative career.
