Thursday 10th January, I was lucky enough to attend the BBC Music Awards in Birmingham. One Direction kicked off the awards with a performance of their new song ‘Drag Me Down’, Fans from all over Europe camped out to watch the boys and even catch a glimpse of them on the red carpet. One Direction were sensational as usual, this was one of the last performances of the lads this year.
The first winner of the night was Adele for British Artist of the Year, Adele sent a message to her fans thanking them, “Sorry I’m not there, I’m absolutely gutted but thanks so much for my award. Thank you so, so much. I hope you’re having a wonderful night”.
Taylor Swift won International Artist of the Year, thanking her fans via video message, “I wish I could be there right now but I’m on tour in Australia. Thank you so much for this BBC Music Award for International Artist of the year. It was an amazing highlight for me getting to play Big Weekend in Norwich. You guys have been so wonderful. Thank you so much, it’s amazing”.
