Though she might currently be on fire at the top of the U.S. album charts, it seems Alicia Keys is about to get sued for a lyric she allegedly stole for her hit single ‘Girl on Fire.’
According to Showbiz 411, Earl Shuman, who wrote ‘Hey There Lonely Girl’ in the 60s, is filing legal papers to take the songstress to court.
Keys sings in the chorus, “She’s a lonely girl, and it’s a lonely world,” whilst Shuman wrote “Hey there lonely girl, lonely girl.”
Shuman says this has happened before with Anita Baker, and even though he’s a fan of Alicia’s song, he expects to get paid for his work.
