Who are the actresses in Thor: Ragnarok? And where have you seen them before?

Cate Blanchett

Well the lead actress needs no introduction, and you probably already know that it’s Cate Blanchett, who plays comic book super-villain Hela. Hela is the Goddess of Death and also the Marvel Universe’s first major female villain, not only is she the first female super villain but she also has the power to hold Thor’s Hammer… The only other person apart from Thor that has been able to hold the hammer was Jarvis/Vision in Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Tessa Thompson

Next up in the trailer we see Valkyrie played by american actress Tessa Thompson. Where have you seen her before? Think back to Veronica Mars TV show where she played Jackie Cook between 2005 and 2006 starring alongside Kristen Bell. Fast forward to 2016 and Thompson played Charlotte Hale in popular TV series Westworld. Not of fan of TV shows? Well you may have seen Thompson in movies such as Creed, Selma and Dear White People.

What we know so far… Valkyrie captures Thor and bring him the arena to fight. We also know that Valkyrie fought with Hela (Cate Blanchett) at some and lost.

Jaimie Alexander

The third actress the has prominence in Thor: Ragnorak is Jaimie Alexander who plays Sif. If you have watched the previous Thor movies that you will already be used to seeing Jaimie Alexander on your screen as she appeared in Thor, plus the sequel in 2013 Thor: The Dark World and also appeared in Marvel’s Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. More recently might have seen Jaimie in the NBC series Blindspot.

Many rumours where spreading that Sif would not be included in this movie, but we have our fingers crossed as we would love to see her back.
