Friends of Winter is a collaborative and constantly evolving music project, built upon the songs of a British singer-songwriter, who prefers to remain anonymous at this stage as he’d like the music itself to be the focus.
With absolutely stunning vocals, ‘Lilith’ definitely speaks for itself. Influences range from artists such as Elliot Smith, Bon Iver and Asgeir, and the simplicity of the music combined with the beautiful and vulnerable vocals create an ethereal and other-worldly escape.
Lillith was released on October 31st, and is the precursor to an album set to be released in 2016 called ‘Collide, Break, Divide’.
The album delivers a cinematic and intense listening experience, thanks to the production skills of Chris James Ryan; who heard the early acoustic recordings and wanted to be involved. The result is a record that matches deeply personal songwriting, with soundscapes bringing the stories told to life.
Friends of Winter also includes musicians who have previously worked with artists such as Florence and the Machine, Elbow and Adele, a testament to their belief in the project.
As the songwriter explains, ‘“For myself, and those involved in Friends Of Winter. This is something that started so long ago. Yet now, it is clear that things have only just begun.”
