Over at Flavour HQ, we’re obsessed with the Irish music scene and you should be too. We rounded up our favourite releases of 2020 so far.
Ireland is known for its incredible music scene and we just can’t seem to get enough of it. We rounded up some of our favourite releases (IT WAS SO HARD TO PICK) that we think you need to hear!
1. Picture This
Said to be Irelands hottest musical export in decades, Picture This is back with their new single ‘Unconditional’, another taste of their highly anticipated third studio album. We’ve been fans of Picture This for a while, seeing them first perform at Shepherds Bush Empire to Reading Festival and Roundhouse in London.
With tracks such as ‘One Drink‘ and ‘Troublemaker‘ as Flavourmag’s Top Picks, We’re extremely excited to hear what these lads have coming up next.
2. The Academic
Acting My Age
The Academic first came on our radar in 2016 at their very intimate show in Stoke Newington and that’s when we fell in love with their sound. Having following the lads for years, it’s been nice seeing them grow as artists and still releasing music we love.
3. Inhaler
Falling In
Meet Inhaler, The Dublin four-piece, made up of Elijah Hewson, Robert Keating, Ryan McMahon and Josh Jenkinson, Inhaler is one of our newest favourite bands we just can’t stop listening too. Check out ‘Falling In’.
4. Alex Tierney
Over The Maybes
Dublin-based singer-songwriter Alex Tierney celebrates the release of his debut single ‘Over The Maybes‘. We can’t wait to see what’s next for Alex, he’s definitely one to watch!
5. The Coronas
Back with their highly anticipated sixth studio album ‘True Love Waits’, The Coronas have made 2020 a little brighter.
6. FLYNN
B-Side
An artist on the rise, FLYNN is back with his new single ‘B-SIDE’. The newest track on the list and rightfully our favourite. Check out FLYNN now.
7. Kodaline
Say Something
Irish rock quartet Kodaline are back with their new album One Day at a Time.
8. EDEN
Untitled
You may have heard of Irish singer-songwriter EDEN unintentionally because of TikTok. With his most popular song ‘sex (catching feelings)‘ going viral on the app, EDEN soon blew up. Back with his new album, ‘ i think you think too much of me’, we’re adding untitled to the list of our favourite tracks.
9. Dermot Kennedy
Giants
Having recently teamed up with heartthrob Paul Mescal to create a performance in the Natural History Museum, Dermot Kennedy brought sonic and visual awe to falls all over the world last month. We’re loving his new single ‘Giants‘
10. Niall Horan
Nice To Meet Ya
Of course, we had to make an honourable mention of Mr Niall Horan. With his second highly anticipated album ‘Heartbreak Weather‘ released back in March, we’ve had time to pick some of our favourites including Cross Your Mind, Small Talk and Bend The Rules
